[A/S] drawbar cracked on 2002 Suburban 2500

I have just replaced my drawbar on my 2002 Suburban 2500.  The drawbar was cracked in 
two places adjacent to the welds which hold the square piece on the drawbar.  I would 
recommend that everyone with the GM/Chev "round-type" draw bars inspect them.  Key 
thing to check is any appearance of rust next to the weld.  Both cracks were into the round 
tube, not through the weld.

I am talking with Chevrolet about this.  Purchased a Reese Type V drawbar as I didn't want 
to replace with the same drawbar.

I was alerted to the possibility of the drawbar cracking by Bob Shoaker at the GA State 
Rally in Hoboken.  He stated that he knew of 6-7 other instances.  WBCCI used to have a 
committee studying this  type problem, but committee was disbanded/not renewed last 
year.
