I have read your post and pretty well all of the replies.
I just thought of something. 
When your trailer is plugged in to a trailer park the electrical 
system in your trailer is grounded through the trailer park 
electrical wiring so the skin of your trailer is at or near zero 
volts relative to ground.   This is safe for you to touch the trailer 
while standing on the ground (earth).
Now if your are plugged in to your generator which is sitting on the 
trail gate of your truck which is insulated from earth by the rubber 
truck tires your poor little Honda isn't connected to ground. The net 
result is that the voltage on the skin of your trailer can be 
different than earth (ground).  This can cause a electrical shock for 
someone standing on the ground and touching the trailer. 
I have a portable generator which I never use on my trailer. This 
generator has a ground lug on the frame and the manual also tells you 
to ground the generator when you are using it. 
Check your Honda manual and see if it mention grounding.   
I know thousands of people use generators and you likely don't know 
of anyone electrocuted in this way. 
The theory that I have described is correct.  Without going into 
details I know what I am talking about.
Someone will tell me that I don't know what I am talking about.
