In My '73, there are no overhead lockers at all, although there could be 
over the head of the bed. As far as the wiring goes, on mine, there is 
no wiring below about waist height.

I patch screw holes with paintable caulk or just shoot a pop rivet into 
the hole.  Paint markers are great for making fasteners match the wall.
