[A/S] 79 Argosy AC

I was told that Carrier makes a better AC to replace my original Argosy 79 AC 
when it finally goes.  It is about $650 for the job.
Is the Argo more valuable with original equipment? Has anyone had trouble 
with electrical if another AC is used?
