I just have to ask...how bad does an A/S owner need to do
all this in south GA where it never gets below 20 and then
for just a few hours a few times a year. [it's dreadfully
sticky in the mid 80s now...drat]

I have foam insulation on all my lines and I find  it hard
to believe it can get that cold all the way inside the line
that fast.  I installed all plastic plumbing with the
crimper tool and bypassed the WH and haven't only tested
the lines, not the drains yet. I don't even plan to put
water into the tank until we stay somewhere without water.

Can't I stick a heater in and open the cabinet doors on
cold nights?
