Mick - there are so many variables when shopping - new versus old.

One of the most interesting things to study (I think) is the change in
trailer weights over the years.

There is a listing of a lot of the trailer weights (over the years) on the
Airstream factory website.

It takes a little searching to find it:

1.  www.airstream.com
2. click on "product line"
3. click on "customer service"
4. a drop down list appears - and click on "FAQ"
5. click on "trailer weights"
6. click on "list of trailer weights"
an Adobe PDF file will open up with several pages of interesting info to
compare and constrast weights
over the years.
