Re: [A/S] in an emergency ...
I'm confused. How can in case of emergency *not* be part of talking about
tow vehicles?
You're on the freeway doing 60 plus mph with 18 wheelers doing 80 mph and you
don't care about emergency handling?
I do.
I've had plenty of occasions where I've had to swerve so fast a smaller less
capable tow vehicle would have rolled with the trailer. I've had to stop the
truck and trailer with just the truck doing the stopping when the trailer
brakes failed.
As a discussion group we discuss. I can't imagine selecting a tow vehicle
with any less criteria than emergency preparedness.
I would never get a tow vehicle because it parks well, it gets good gas
mileage, my spouse doesn't like driving it etc..... that's the selection criteria
for grocery haulers.... tow vehicles have a job to do and I want the best
vehicle for that job.
We have people on this list that have switched to the bigger trucks after
having harrowing experiences.... it's scary out there. <g>
