What I am trying to suggest is that a blanket excuse such as described
to dismiss the opinion of another is not very constructive.

As far as big trucks and maneuvering goes, you are much more likely to
suffer a roll over in such a rig than you would be in a properly
equipped sedan with its lower center of gravity. But you would be even
safer if you could adapt your driving so that evasive maneuvering was
a rare exception to your normal driving experience.

I think safety and handling are indeed good topics for discussion, but
I think it should be approached as a multi faceted problem with many
factors contributing to better solutions. The response to the idea of
the VW SUV as an Airstream tow vehicle stuck me as being a "yes or no"
approach and this, IMHO, is not appropriate to matters of safe
handling of towed vehicles.
