The clang is probably the compressor bouncing around on the rubber feet that
it is mounted on. In the instruction manuals of all the household fridges I
have had, it always said to let it sit for an hour or two before plugging
them in, after they had been moved. I expect that would include bouncing
them down the road.  Not an issue I guess if you are just moving your unit 
from one long term site to another, but would be a problem if you are travelling.  
Looking at the back of the RV fridge vs the fridge in the house, they look
like two different critters. The RV fridge looks a lot sturdier in
construction. I don't like the price you have to pay to replace an RV fridge
any better than the next person, but I would hate to find that my house type
fridge decided it didn't like the idea of being bounced down the road, gave
up on me and I lost a fridge full of grub.  I guess if I see one somewhere that 
has been in a TT for a dozen years and it still works with no problems, my mind 
could be changed.  Just MHO.  regards... Jim
