A very interesting post.  I have often wondered the same thing.  I 
go to the Marina and find a 12V switch.  I go to Radio Shack and 
find an almost identical switch(I can't tell the diff).  Both are 
made in Taiwan.  The Marina will sell it for $7.95 and Radio Shack 
will sell it for $2.95.  The Marina switch appears to be the exact 
same thing.  Don't tell me it is made of brass, cause it is not.  
I've installed the Radio Shack Switches and that was years ago and 
everything is fine.  Go figure...........
