Every aluminum tank owner should read the notices in the Blue Beret to
get the straight scoop. (I think also on the WBCCI site)

DO NOT depend upon a propane dealer to know that aluminum tanks are
different than steel tanks and put on the right OPD valve. Check,
verify, and insist that the dealer get it right. (safety problem for
you, liability problem for him)

You can easily see if you have the right valve because they are marked
with the Dip Tube length. The proper Dip Tube length is also usually
stamped on the tank, too, so you can compare the tank spec to the
valve spec.

I had quite a go around with my local dealer who put 4.7 DT valves on
my 30# Al tanks - which requre 6.0 DT. He had to go all the way up to
Worthington before he would believe me. 4.7 is right for steel 30# but
not Al.
