Re: [A/S] more info-OPD valves
interesting, go read http://tinyurl.com/carj
where it states:
OPD Requirements for Propane Cylinders
All of the requirements of the LP-Gas Code (NFPA 58), 2001 Edition, pertaining
to the overfilling prevention device (OPD) are in effect in North Carolina. We
do not anticipate any changes to these requirements. As a result, no propane
cylinder of four to forty pounds propane capacity may be filled in North
Carolina unless it is equipped with an OPD.
A few specific exemptions apply for motor fuel cylinders (fork lift and floor
buffer cylinders properly equipped according to Table 2.3.3.2(a) of the LP-Gas
Code) and to cylinders manufactured prior to October 1, 1998, and designed for
use in the horizontal orientation for which an OPD is not available. Such
horizontal cylinders shall have a label to indicate that they are not equipped
with an OPD.
