Tony, to unhook, I take the tension of the spring bars (sloppy 
loose), unhook the chains, umbilical cord, and loosen the over center 
latches. Then I squat down and look closely at the hitch reciever and 
run the jack up or down until I see the hitch bar move slightly up or 
down in the receiver (its a very small amount of movement). At that 
point, the hitch bar will often come slightly out on its on or is 
loose enough to easily drive away.

Wow, I use a six inch drop bar on our Chevy 2500. I have a 4 inch bar 
but felt the trailer was still a little "nose high". I prefer level 
to slightly "nose low".
