I don't know about this product but the concept is not a gimmick.  The 
concept is a part of Newtons law of  bodies in motion  and is 
fundamental in the balance of rotational equipment in heavy industry, 
gyroscopic controls of all kinds,  ship stabilizers, etc. J. C. Whitney 
used to sell wheel covers with a  ball bearings in a tube around the 
wheel. Maybe they still do.

Its been 50 years since school so about all that I remember is the 
concept but I can't explain it. You probably wouldn't want me to even if 
I could.

I am however, going to watch this thread with interest because I don't 
know if those before me put my wheels back on in the same position that 
they came off or not and I have always worried about that. I am with 
you, Nick, if it is effective that would be a n inexpensive fix for this 
AS problem.
