[A/S] Advice

Hi, my name is Aaron.  I have been reading group emails for quite 
some time now--just taking it all in.  I was hoping I might ask some 
of the more knowledgeable in the group some advice.
My wife and I are new to RVing and A/S.  We have been looking since 
about Christmas for a TT under 20'.  A man wrote to me with a 65 
Caravel (17') asking $3000.  He supposedly sold it then had the 
person back out so he re-offered me the trailer for $3800.  Now 
obviously I was a little irritated that he had raised the price $800, 
however, I have also learned how difficult it is to find any of the 
really small trailers for a reasonable price.  I talked him down to 
$3500 and he'd throw in a Reese universal hitch.  I guess I am 
wondering if I am being stupid not just walking away.  I found 
another trailer same size for $3900 but it is not in quite as good 
condition and I wouldn't be getting the hitch.  
How unlikely is it that I find a deal like this again?  Should I just get 
it and not look back or should I hang on and wait for the right buy.  
(Oh yeah, my wife and I are college students and so have very little 
money so cannot really afford to spend much over $4000 (in fact I 
would really prefer to stay under).  Thanks, Aaron
