Joseph - if you end up with a 20' Globetrotter (my first Airstream was a '65
GT - perfect for a single person with two cats, or two very compatible
humans and two cats), you can tow it very handily (and safely) with anything
packin' a V8 engine - wheelbase is far less important with a shorter trailer
(within reason) - a weight-distributing hitch (at least), and a decent
brake-controller (i like the jordan ultima 2020). Unless the trailer has new
(less than four or five years old) tires, tow it carefully to a tire shop
and put some new light truck/trailer radial tires on it, grease the hubs,
and check the brakes on both of the trailer's wheels. This would be a good
time to check the trailer's suspension, too.

The most oft-used phrase heard when buying a used trailer is 'everything
worked last time we took it out' should be translated as, 'be prepared for
nothing to work five minutes after you get it home'...
