[A/S] water in fuel/bad fuel?
this has happend on two ocassions, the last time two years ago. It just
happend while towing the Airstream back home from the dealer in Patterson,
NY, on a very busy I-84 between NY state and Hartford. oddly, it has only
happens when towing the airstream. Although I've got my foot in the
accelerator, it is as though I've abruptly taken my foot off the gas, the car
loses all power. of course it sounds as though the engine has quit, but when
I pull over it is still running, I put the car in neutral, rev the engine a
bit, it's fine, then I'm on my way again. the last time this happend the GM
dealer could find nothing wrong with the car. It's kinda scary towing in
heavy fast traffic. Would this be a symptom of water in the gas on fuel
injected engine? I've had bad fuel years ago in a carburated car, that would
sputter and and the engine would die. this has never happend when driving
solo, just when towing, it happend three times on the 90mile trip yesterday.
any ideas?
