I installed one of those little ShurFlo accumulator tanks in our trailer and
wouldn't be without it. You can hardly tell when the pump cycles on and off
during a shower, and the pressure just seems much steadier. It only supplies
about a cup of water before the pump cycles 'on', but it's enough to do the
job.

Another reason for the accumulator is that normally, the water heater acts
as such. After a while, the air cushion is absorbed into the water and the
pump will cycle with only (seemingly) a few drops of water being drawn.
It'll also short-cycle as you describe when the flow is restricted.

We hardly ever are connected to city water, so this is a bigger deal to me
than it might be to others.
