[A/S] Back From Walt's
Hi Gang,
Just got home, spent a couple of hours at Walt's getting stuff fixed. The
new antenna is way cool. It's a trucker's cellphone antenna. Walt's guys
mounted it on the side of the trailer for me. It gave the phone quite a
boost and keeps the death rays away from me when I'm on the phone <g> It
should make a big difference when I'm using the cell to get online.
Got the funky smell out of the hot water tank. Seems that not using it for
months caused it.
WD40ed lots of sticking things, like the step, the door, the black tank valve
puller.
Seaed and tightened the screws holding the "sunglasses" which seemed to be
what is causing the little drips down the screen into the trailer.
When I got home I goofed a little and when I unhooked the trailer it was
tough to drive out of the hitch.... I get impulsive and instead of fixing the
problem I just powered out...... this caused the jack to jump off the board
and sink into the sandy soil. Oops, trailer was almost on its nose.
I tried putting the jack further down.... it just kept sinking. Now I'm
picturing a big truck jack lifting the front so I could get that board back
under...... then I saw the front A frame and got an idea. I got two large
firewood logs and put them under the frame on each side and lifted the jack
all the way up. The trailer held and I slipped the board under the jack and
voila... I could then lift the trailer.
I know the rest of you probably would have known what to do right away, but
thought I would share in case someone didn't know. It's a sinking feeling
when the jack is sinking (c:
