[A/S] Barbara Bobo re: hot fresh water leak!
Barbara,
The built in air expansion space inside of your water heater is being filled
with heated water rather than compressing the air inside the unit as it
should.
I don't know how safe a condition this is now that you have super-heated
water exiting the heater and going God knows where. You DO know the water
is leaking out from underneath, but who knows where else that water is going
and NOT getting out of the trailer body. The water could even be getting
into the wooden floor, creeping under solid floor covering, etc.
I think that personally it is imperative that you get this situation
corrected immediately if not sooner. There is no telling what this hot
water is doing to the underbelly insulation which could require some if not
all removal and replacement of the insulation at worst. At best, the damage
will be localized but I'm not betting against slight damage to the
insulation.
When the water began to leak out the underbelly you noticed it. However,
this could have been happening for a longer period of time and most probably
it did.
Good luck, have fun on the rest of your trip.
