The regulator should last a long time.  When you tefloned the regulator did 
you clean the threads first?  Sometimes a little dirt can cause a leak even 
with teflon.  I'd clean it again and rewrap and try again before I'd 
consider replacing.

Also a quick call to Walt may lend an idea.
