The way I do my truck scale weighing takes a little extra time.  Here in
Oregon it is easy at one of the many unattended scales.  I first weigh
each of the axles.  Then I move left so the left side is to the side of
the scale plate and weigh only the right side of the axle.  Subtraction
gives the left side weight.  The scale is in 50# increments but it will
show any severe imbalances.
