Joy,

What is bad about your axles?  If it is the rubber torsion pieces, they can 
be changed according to the factory.  When I was at Jackson center this 
summer the guide for the tour told us that one of the benefits of the 
trailer axles was that any Airstream dealer can pull them apart and install 
new rubbers.  He said that they had to use a big hydraulic puller, cold 
soak the new rubber in liquid nitrogen (?), put them into place and then 
slide everything back together.  Don't give up on the axles until you talk 
to the factory.
