Maurice: A couple of folks have suggested that I not give up on
the idea of a single EU2000 for the air conditioner only.

The air conditioner in my Safari is the 11,000 BTU model, and the
manual says that the max continuous load is 9.5 amps for the
compressor and 3.1 amps for the fan. This comes out to a little
over 1500 Watts. While the starting current for the air
conditioner is much higher, it's just momentary, and the EU 2000
SHOULD get it over the hump. I'd turn off the breaker for the
battery converter while running the air conditioner if I had to.
