I built in a sofa bed in the front of my tradewind the origional airstream 
pull out beds are now resting quietly in the local landfill. the origional 
beds in vintage airstreams were torture racks.
I bought a pare of sofa bed "jack knife" hinges and built the frames and 
engineered them in place so that they look like origional equipment I used 
the new blue"comfort foam" in 4 in thickness it is a firm but confortable bet 
and there is no falling through the crack in the middle. took a lot of work 
but it was worth it.
