   If so, what would keep a long trailer from "skidding" the tow 
vehicle sideway? Now the tow vehicle is pointed where it shouldn't 
be. That could make matters evan worse. Lose of control going down 
hill is much more serious than up hill. That is why the first thing 
they teach over at the truck driving school is "never top a hill any 
faster than you want to go down the other side" Start watching the 
good defensive drivers who are towing. They quite often go uphill 
faster than down hill.
