         If you're talking about the combination zirk fitting and retaining 
pin for the spring bars, just be careful how far you turn the fitting in - 
too far and the spring bars will hit them beyond the chamfer on the end of 
the bar, and you won't be able to put them in.  That's not so much a 
problem as the possibility of bending or breaking the pin.
         However, I thought he was finding that the spring jacks had not 
held, had "unwound," and the spring bars were, as a result, loosened.  Did 
I misunderstand that?  If the pins were retracted too far, then the spring 
bar would just tend to fall out of the sleeve.  That would certainly be 
disconcerting. ;-)
