Maurice:
I have never towed with an extended van but I have a neighbour who 
has and he describes extended van towing as pretty scary.  Think 
about it when the front of the van goes left the back goes right.   
This causes the trailer to start fishtailing.   
The standard van would definitely be a better tow vehicle.
