Starting your cat heater is as follows:
One the right, press the knob in and rotate it to the start position. On the
left push in the piezo lighter and repeat until you see a small pilot flame
at the ignitor/pilot assy on the lower left center of the pad. Once the
pilot lights continue holding the knob in the start position until the glow
starts to spread up the pad, or about 30 seconds. Once the pad starts to
heat, rotate the knob to the desired heat level.
Olympian suggests a ventilation of 1 sq inch for every 1,000 btu of heat
generated. A carbon monoxide detector is a good investment in any RV.
Propane detectors are required by current RV construction standards in all
RV's. First Alert makes a very nice combined smoke/CO detector that I put in
our Argosy.
