Re: [A/S] Re: Cataletic Heaters
While it is always wise to be cautious around any open appliance, it is
important to know how a catalytic heater works. Often times phrases like
"burner" or "open flame" give a false impression. A catalytic heat does not
burn or oxidize fuel as a stove burner would, rather it uses catalytic
conversion using the same principles as a catalytic converter in a car's
exhaust system. The fuel reacts with minerals in the pad material to
generate heat. While there is a minuscule amount of CO created it is
significantly less than an open flame source.
