[A/S] Re: Why Airstream?polybutylene plumbing
I too just bought a 1985 25' rear twin Airstream Sovereign as a
compromise for my 88 year old Mom and me to travel in. She has a 73
29 footer( too big and too old) and I have two Bambis (too small for
her) I have purchased new tires, had the bearings replaced, and a
few leaks repaired. After dealing with copper plumbing, I thought
the "grey stuff" was pretty good. Apparently, not so. I have had a
few joints replaced. Mom and I just returned from dry camping in
Chama, New Mexico and Colorado. What a difference to have 50 gallon
fresh water tanks, grey and black water tanks. We also had furnace
heat in freezing weather. We saw a 25' l986 for sale in Pogosa
Springs Colorado for $13,000. I though this to be a high price. I
still have some problems to work through, but all in all we are
adjusting to this little trailer very well. Our big ambition and
reason for buying this trailer is to take a trip to Maine this
summer. Being from West Texas and never beyond New Mexico and
Colorado, I am hoping I can fulfill her dream to travel to these
unseen destinations. --- In AirstreamList@y..., "j54mark"
