  Do check out that MH before setting out. If the tires are older than 5 
years or so, replace them, and have the brakes checked while the wheels 
are off. Make sure the batteries are secured so they don't tip over and 
fix any 'green wire syndrome' (corrosion) that you see, especially near 
the batteries. It wouldn't hurt to do a complete tuneup, including 
plugs, wires, cap, rotor, and fuel filter.

Doing all that will go a long way towards preventing problems. You might 
also consider an ERS (Emergency Road Service) from either The Escapees 
or Good Sam Club. (both use the same carrier, I believe)

You have the right idea on doing a few test runs. This will get you 
comfortable with the on-board systems and with driving the thing.
