Jack,
You are correct, we are on the same quest. 
I am also jealous that you don't have the  vibrating
mirrors. My father has a '96, the new body style, and
his are just as bad as ours. A friend of his with the
same vehicle, different year, was so frustrated by the
vibration he got his dealer to replace them under
warranty. They still vibrate. 
Which clip ons did you get? 
I still hoping to track down complete replacements
like the ones Charlie mention.
I know there are a few others out there with newer GM
vans, with luck someone will jump in with the perfect
solution.
