[A/S] Hitches & Receivers
Hello all
Well I'm quickly learning about hitches, receivers, equalizers and so
forth. Huge dollars can be spent on the components. Through my
contact a Reese hitch and equalizer is $700.00 Cdn. Ouch. Soooo....
I've decided that I will track down a receiver that will fit the
trailer's equalizer bars and have the capability for adding on a
stabilizer. The bars are round and not the Trunnion? style. The
trailer has been pulled with this system for many years so why break
tradition? I've since found that the approx. weight of the trailer is
4200 lbs. With a class three hitch rated for 5000 lbs. and the
existing equalizer system will bump it up to 7500 lbs. So am I on
the right track so far? My truck is a 1990 F250 4X4 Extended cab LB
XLT Lariet 7.5 litre so the truck and trailer combined should be
pushing 46-48 feet in total length.
