There are certainly a lot of hitch options and when properly installed they
will all do the job they are intended to do. Some will do a better job of
sway control, handling, and make the towing experience less stressful. I
have towed Airstreams for over 10 years and until recently used a standard
drawtight equalizer hitch with friction sway control. Did it work, sure. I
just got used the white knuckles every time an 18 wheeler came by doing 80
and 90 miles an hour and sucked me up their tail pipes. Then finally after a
trip across the high planes of Texas on the way to Arizona the high cross
winds caused sway like I had never seen before. That's when I decided that
there must be a better way to tow. I bought a Hensley Arrow and I can tell
you it was well worth the price. No sway at all and so much more control.
When those big trucks come by I can steer with one hand on the wheel and not
even feel them go by. So if your options are $700 for a Reese why not go for
a Hensley Arrow. You won't be disappointed. But if you want to stay with
traditional type hitches, check out the "Equalizer" hitch. That actually its
name and I know Charlie Burke recommends them highly. Good luck
