[A/S] Cost To Strip and Recoat an Airstream

The following is the reply I received from Joe Pershing, proprietor of Oasis
RV in Tucson, AZ.  I had e-mailed him asking about stripping and recoating a
31' A/S.

"We have been very successful in refinishing Airstreams in and around the
Tucson area. Oasis furnishes a one year warranty. Sun belt areas require
polishing at least 3 to 4 times a year. Duration of Coating should last 5 to
10 years depending on climate condition. The trailer may be used in. Cost to
refinish trailer would be at $3,800.00 polishing would be extra. Also
retaping if needed. Any other questions please give us a call at

P & S Trailer Service in Helena, OH, near the Airstream factory, stripped
and recoated a '93 34' A/S for me about four years ago.  The cost was
approximately $3200 for the job and polishing was required on all six upper
end caps, front and rear.
