Right on!

Nothing like corporate management over solutioning the problem.

The problem is very simple:  New Airstreams are very expensive - probably
too expensive for the younger market.  [Even if they can afford one, they
are not likely to spend the big bucks because they don't have the time to
use one like a retiree.] Also the quality and design differentiation of an
Airstream is not as evident or explained as well as it should be.  Also, (in
my opinion) they are spending too much money on glitz and not concentrating
on function (the antithesis of Wally Byam)..

There are lots of rich looking, durable moderate cost materials that could
be used to produce a cozy, practical, contemporary interior which would not
break the bank.  Raised panel oak cabinet doors are not one of them.

The other problem is that today's SUVs are not very good tow vehicles, nor
are automobiles for heavy trailers.  Get the weight down!!  My '76 Tradewind
is around a thousand pounds lighter than the current 25 footer.  Why not
look into new, readilly available, lightweight, strong materials like carbon
fiber, honeycomb aluminum, etc.?

As Ed Murrow once said, "The obscure we see eventually, the completely
obvious, it seems, takes longer."
