Hey Linda,

Did you ever hear of whistling in the dark? In my opinion, that's what you'd
be doing if you believed a Safari weighs 2200 pounds.

I have a '67 22' Safari that's been on the scales. Our weigh-in occurred
while we were on a cross country trip. 4200 pounds is more like it.

We've towed it with two of our vehicles (both of which have the factory
trailer towing package), a 1986 Suburban with 6.2 L diesel and a 1975
Mercury wagon with 460 CID gas.  The 6.2 L naturally aspirated diesel (389
CID) did a mediocre job west of the Mississippi, while the 460 CID did an
outstanding job under all conditions, everywhere.
