 Mark. The LPG tank guages are a variable resistor, that is in series with the monitor panel gauge. The ground return is through the LPG bottles themselves. Therefore they must be firmly held down. If the tank guage wires are removed, that signifies an open circuit, which results in the monitor panel showing full. Shorting out the LPG tank guage wire, to ground, should make the monitor panel guage show empty. Recalibrating the monitor panel guages, is sometimes required. The key to proper operation, is the grounding of the LPG bottles.  Max
