[A/S] Re: tires on tow vehicle question
A lot of Tahoes & Suburban 1500's come with 15" load range C tire
which are car tires. They aren't that good for towing heavy loads.
You should go to LT ( light truck ) load range E tires if towing
heavy loads. MY Suburban C2500 came with 245 75 R 16 load range E. I
put about 50 psi when I'm driving W/O the A/S TT. When I get ready to
tow the A/S, I increase the pressure to 70/75 psi ( side wall says
max psi is 80 ). That makes it alittle rougher riding W/O the A/S,
but I leave them at that psi until I return home & put the A/S in
storage. Then I let the air out to 50 psi. They discuss this issue on
the Suburban site every once in a while. Most of the folks do it the
same way I do.
