stiffer sidewalls make for  better handling. probably not an issue
with a 3/4 pk-up fully loaded pulling a big trailer at 60 to 70 mph as i 
have no experience to speak with. but i do know when i purchased a used 94 
ford crown vic in 96 i didn't like the way the car handled.
as soon as i could i put a better set of tires on the veh. Same load
capacity! and much stiffer sidewalls. it made the car better and safer to 
drive.  i'm not disagreeing with you as much as mentioning not to forget 
what one varriable plays in the equation.  I like my vehicles to have good 
handling and carry a load, it makes for a better driving experience. I've 
noticed that a poorer handling veh tires me out faster then I get crankey 
and .... and .....    Steve
