Pete,
  I saw a write up on a web site a year or 2 ago, where a guy used an RV 
water heater, 12VDC pump, and an automotive-type heater core with fan to 
heat his trailer. He claimed that it was much better than the old 
furnace in several ways. (fuel consumption and power usage)

However, I don't have the URL, sorry.
