There are places like Tractor Supply Co. that sell "ramp ends" that are 
aluminum extrustions that bolt to the end of a 2X12 to make a really 
nice ramp. I use a pair for loading my golf cart in the back of the 
truck. IIRC, they were only $40.00/pair.
