On your inverter search,
I bought a small one at a Radio Shack for around $40US that did not work
well. It did not have enough power to run my laptop and cell phone
charger at the same time. It kept overheating in the hot desert climate I
was in.
I then went to a Circuit City electronics store and got one with slightly
more output (130 watts continuous) made by Belkin for around $40US and it
works great.
I would not put a 1500 Watt in my cab because I don't need that much
power up there and I think it would be too big anyway.
You could get by with a small one and have much money left over unless
you had more needs for it than I.
