[A/S] Some info on Propane tank laws in Canada
I have been reading with mucho interesto the thread on propane tanks
and the regulations under which they fall in the USA, and thought
some info on Canada might be welcome for Canadians, and for US of
Americans who might be travelling here and wish to refill their
tanks. In Canada, your tank date becomes stale after ten years, and
the recertification consists of valve replacement and new date
stamping at that time. They don't hydrostat the tanks as most places
who are authorized to recertify don't have the equipment to test
them. The cost of revalving a steel tank is around $13. I don't
know of any place in two or three hundred miles of where I live who
will fill a tank which is beyond the Canadian Stale Date. Hope this
helps someone trying to refill tanks in Canada.
