I didn't have any problems converting my tanks. I have not heard of 
anyone who has had problems like this.

I had my Aluminum propane tanks converted to OPD valves over a year 
ago. The local propane company that I normaly use to fill my tanks 
would not replace the valves in my aluminum tanks. (This propane 
company was not re-valving any propane tanks.) I had to hunt for a 
someone to do the valve replacement for the aluminum tanks.

I think that you need to hunt around for someone else to do the 
re-valving work. Several people have already noted that removing 
something stuck is part art. You need to find one of these "artistic" 
mechanic.
