I use DeLorme "Street Atlas USA Deluxe" on my laptop, with the gps unit sold by
DeLorme. It does not show the elevation of all the roads, but usually has "Pass"
elevation listed on the maps. The GPS unit has a screen that desplays the
elevation at all times when you are tracking. I have the latest version that
allows you to put new roads on the map, and talk to your computer to input
change request for zoom level and such as you go along. It also verbally tells
you when and which way to turn along the route, but I found it got confused in
this area if you did any back tracking along the route.
I have three mapping programs on my laptop, but have found that none of them
will do all I would like for a program to do. I have also found pretty major
errors in all three of them during a 14,000 mile trip to Alaska this summer. I
found that none of them has good location data on lots of the campgrounds in
their data base.
In spite of these short comings, I still really enjoy having my location on the
moving map where I can see it all the time. I designed a little platform that
plugs into my drink holder on the truck console that holds my laptop where I can
see it all the time. It rides there on all our trips when the A/S is in tow. It
tracked me all the way to Alaska this summer, I had to use DeLorme "Map and Go"
when we were in Canada, sense the Street Atlas USA program only covers the US. I
think the Microsoft "Street and Trips" is the best program, but my GPS unit
won't work with it. You can get GPS units that will work with it, but I already
had the DeLorme unit when I got Street and Trips. BTW I got Street and Trips at
Sam's Club for $6 after the rebate this spring. I think the new 2002 version is
there now for $12 after rebate.

That was a lot of verbiage to tell you I don't know of a program that supplies
all the data you ask for.
