Re: [A/S] Re: Help with wood flooring

I've seen a sample of cork flooring I plan on using on
my '66 safari (I need to find the name of the company)
- this product is assembled easily with tongue &
groove connection. The cork comes in a variety of
colors and pre-sealed with a dense masonite type
material substrate. It doesn't appear that you would
need to do any surface preparation to the existing
floor since this material is approx. 1/2 inch thick
and very rigid. Sections are about 18 in. width x 3
ft. length. I am also looking into the bamboo
flooring. It is similar in thickness to hardwood
flooring and the weight didn't seem as bad as I
thought on the sample pieces I inspected. I am
concerned about the thickness of either type as I plan
on removing most of the appliances and running the
flooring under sofa, bed frames, refrig. etc. The
increased height may require me to plane down the
height of the furnishings to match ceiling
clearance/height and the way the cabinets connect to
the walls - anyone have experience on this? thanks,
