Dan, is the gray "chinking" material still somewhat soft? I'm wondering if
it's Vulkem which is commonly used on Airstreams. Based on my limited
experience trying to remove old Vulkem -- it's not easy. There's probably a
solvent that will do it. Maybe mineral spirits or something similar.
