The creaky floors are caused by the "floor to chassis"
mounting screws becoming loose. That allows the floor
to move ever so slightly over the frame and
crossmembers. It can be fixed, by pulling up the
carpet, or by dropping the underbelly and with "vice
grips" tightening the suspected loose self tapping
floor screws. Not an easy task as there is not much
working room, but it can be done. It's a tedious and
time consuming job. The cause?? Improperly balanced
running gear. It will make you a believer in proper
wheel balance. Creaky floors can happen to any year,
any length Airstream trailer or motorhome, ever built,
if shaken enough. Max
